French Fries

French Fries

Red Potatoes (The number of potatoes depends on how many fries you want)

Hot oil (The oil can either be Canola oil, Vegetable Oil, Olive Oil, etc.)

Cold water

Salt to add flavor

Wash your potatoes. It is up to you to leave the skins on or to peel the potatoes. Evenly slice the potatoes about 1/4″. Put in a bowl that is filled with cold water and let the potatoes soak for 1/2 an hour in the fridge. While the potatoes are soaking, heat the oil on a medium heat until it reaches 320 degrees F. Add salt to the oil. After the potatoes are finished soaking, drain the water very well and add the potatoes to the hot oil. (Water and oil are a bad combination). Cook for about 5 minutes, then remove the potatoes from the oil. Let the potatoes sit and after 5-10 minutes put the fries back into the oil. Cook until the fries turn a golden brown color.  Remove the fries from the oil and the salt that added flavor. Let cool then Enjoy your French Fries.
